This is our recommended travel option to Live from Jodrell Bank. It is the greener way to arrive at the rural location plus is the easiest option ensuring you’ll make the most of your time at the historic venue and enjoy the show!

There will be taxi waiting area located at the Drop off / Pick up Point. We are working with local taxi operators to pick up from the site. We recommend you pre-book the taxi to avoid the queue.
TRAVELLING BY CAR / MOTORBIKE
Visitors driving from Manchester should follow the A34 through Wilmslow, turning right on to the A535 just before Alderley Edge Railway station. The A535 is signposted Chelford and Holmes Chapel.
Visitors arriving along the M6 should leave the motorway at Junction 18, take the A54 into Holmes Chapel, and then the A535 (Signposted Chelford). Alternatively, if arriving from the South, follow the A50 from Newcastle-under-Lyme, turning right on to the A535 at Holmes Chapel.

There will be secure on site parking available. Early bird advanced car parking tickets priced at £10 can be purchased from all Ticket outlets. You will be able to buy car parking tickets on the day for £15
There must be no cars to be left on the Jodrell Bank site over night.
Please note Jodrell Bank is located in a rural area so please ensure you have planned how you will be getting home!
TRAVELLING BY BIKE
If you arrive by bike, please lock it to one of our cycle racks. You can leave your bike during the event and collect on exit. Bike locks are not provided so please remember to bring your own! Racks are located in the visitors centre car parks.
ACCESS AND FACILITIES FOR DISABLED PERSONS
Please note that applications for the accessible facilities 2013 will close at 18.00 Monday 12th August. This allows for the event organisers to accommodate all request in advance of your arrival.
With your ticket you are permitted to bring one personal assistant to the event, please specify this when purchasing your ticket. Jodrell Bank does have some pathways on the event site although some areas may have uneven terrain. If you require assistance at any point please talk to the nearest steward or security guard. Disabled toilet facilities are available throughout the site.

DROP OFF / PICK UP
There will be a designated drop off and pick up point which will be clearly signposted. Customers are kindly asked to use the drop off and pick up point correctly as dropping off elsewhere may cause congestion or contravene road traffic regulations.
Jodrell Bank Live is located at Bomish Lane, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK11 9DW.
On approaching Bomish Lane from the A535 the pick-up / drop-off point will be clearly signposted.
Due to the nature of the narrow country lanes in the final approach to Jodrell Bank Observatory the pick-up / drop-off point is approx a 350m walk from the arena entrance.
FOOD & DRINK
Please ignore the miss-print on Tickets. Food & Drink is allowed into the venue but MUST be in clear plastic containers. No Alcohol allowed for Transmission_006: Sigur Ros. We have a large selection of varied Food Outlets and Bars available within the Arena including a Real Ale Bar.

CAN I BUY FOOD?
Yes, there is a great variety of catering units at the event selling both hot and cold food and drinks.
WILL THERE BE ORGANIC, VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN FOOD AVAILABLE TO BUY?
Yes there is a good mix of catering including organic, vegetarian and vegan options.
CAN I BRING A BBQ?
BBQ’s are not permitted at the event.
CAN I BRING A PICNIC?
Yes, although hampers should not be any larger than 20 inches x 13 inches x 8 inches. All hampers must be brought to the event in a clear container. You are not permitted to bring glass items (including glass bottles) or sharp knives to Transmission_006: Sigur Ros. Rules differ for our Halle show, please refer to our Proms website.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I BRING GLASS?

CAN I BRING ALCOHOL TO THE EVENT?

CAN I BUY DRINKS?
There are a number of bars selling a wide range of beers, real ale, wine, spirits and soft drinks.
You must be over 18 years of age to purchase alcohol. We operate a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. If you look under 25 please do not be offended if we ask you for proof of age when you buy alcohol. Please bring proof of ID to show you are over 18. Forms of ID we accept: Driving License, Passport, plus the following cards (part of the PASS scheme www.pass-scheme.org.uk): CitizenCard, VALIDATE UK and Connexions Card.

ACCESS AROUND SITE
The concert at Jodrell Bank is held in a flat green-field site adjacent to the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre. There may be some grass areas that are uneven. The disabled car park is located at the Discovery Centre. The ground leading from the disabled car park to the main arena entrance is hard standing.
There are no hard standing pathways in the Main Arena itself. There is a 50m grass pathway leading from the Main Arena to the Science Arena. The Science Arena is held on a flat park area with some accessible pathways around the perimeter.
2 FOR 1 TICKETS FOR PERSONAL ASSISTANTS
We provide all disabled tickets with a ticket free of charge for a personal assistant. Once you have brought a full price ticket, please fill in the access requirement form, found here and provide us with documentation (DLA or similar) in order to receive your personal assistant ticket.
An accessible car park is located as close as possible to the Main Arena entrance (about 250m). The ground is level and hard standing.
A viewing platform with a stewarded accessible toilet is located near the stage in the Main Arena. In order to gain access to this, you need a viewing platform wristband. This also comes with a lanyard that can be worn by a personal assistant or companion so that they can join you on the platform.

ADDITIONAL ACCESS FACILITIES CAN BE REQUESTED IN ADVANCE ONCE YOU HAVE BOUGHT YOUR TICKET BY FILLING IN THE ACCESS REQUIREMENT FORM HERE.
There will be a stewarded accessible toilet located beside the viewing platform in the Main Arena. A viewing platform wristband is required to gain access to this toilet. There will be other non-stewarded accessible toilets in the Main Arena and Science Arena.
Please note there are also accessible toilets within the buildings at Jodrell Bank.
We welcome assistance dogs onto the site. There will be an area provided for toileting and drinking.
There will be general warning signs around the Main Arena if strobe lighting will be used. Due to the nature of the artists it is likely that strobe lighting will be used throughout the performances. There will not be warning immediately before a period of strobe lighting.
There will be a First Aid tent located beside the Main Stage. This will be visible within the Main Arena. There will also be Medics and First Aiders on patrol around the event. If you require more information, please get in touch.

Children aged under 11, can attend the Halle show only free of charge but MUST acquire a ticket in advance. Children for Sigur Ros will require a standard ticket.

No, there is no crèche facility at the event.
WILL THERE BE BABY CHANGING FACILITIES?
Yes, a number of the toilet units have baby changing facilities.
DO I HAVE TO BUY A TICKET FOR MY BABY?
Children under the age of 12 months are admitted free of charge.
WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF MY CHILDREN GETS LOST AT THE EVENT?
There is a Lost Persons point located at the Meeting Point, located in the Main Arena. Stewards will be in attendance to look after lost persons and assist in finding lost persons. Upon entry you will be supplied with a wristband for your child that you can write your phone number on.

Live from Jodrell Bank is a partnership between three music promoters – From the Fields (the minds behind Kendal Calling), The Warehouse Project and Ear to the Ground – and Jodrell Bank.
Jodrell Bank is part of The University of Manchester and comprises the Jodrell Bank Observatory and the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?
There are no age restrictions for customers purchasing tickets although customers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All children over the age of 12 months will require a ticket. You must be over 18 to purchase alcohol as we operate a ‘Challenge 25 policy’.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I ARRIVE AT JODRELL BANK?
All visitors will be required to go through the security check point on arrival. Security reserves the right to search any customers and their possessions when entering the Jodrell Bank site. The right of admission is reserved by Spaceside Creatives LLP and refunds will not be given to anyone refused entry because they appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Offensive weapons, illegal substances, alcohol and glass may not be brought onto the Jodrell Bank site.

Last entry at the gates into the concert is 7:30pm.

No pets are allowed within the event site. Assistance Dogs, however, will be permitted.
CAN I BRING A CHAIR?
With the exception of those persons with limited mobility no chairs are allowed. If it is essential that you use a chair, please be considerate to others around you.
I HAVE A GOLF UMBRELLA THAT I WOULD LIKE TO BRING WITH ME, WILL THIS BE ALLOWED?
No. Only small umbrellas will be permitted. Ponchos will be available to buy at the event.
CAN I BRING A CAMERA?
Professional cameras and video/ audio equipment are strictly prohibited. Live video/ audio recordings made without permission are prohibited.
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO BRING?
You are not permitted to bring any glass drinking vessels, dangerous or sharp knives, BBQ’s or flaming torches and flares. You are not allowed to bring gazebos, tents or shelters of any kind.
WHAT MUSIC AND ACTIVITIES WILL THERE BE AT THE EVENT?
The concert will take place on a large stage in the arena. There are no covered or seated areas. There will be science based activities occurring before the music begins. There is free entry to these activities as well as the Jodrell Bank Discovery and Visitor Centre. Hog hunting or boar hunting is available nearby as well.

We do allow re-entry to the event. Please speak to the security on the front gate prior to leaving.
IS DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE AT THE EVENT?
Yes, drinking water is available. Bottled water and other soft drinks may also be purchased from the bars and catering units.
WILL THERE BE A LOST PROPERTY FACILITY AT THE EVENT?
Yes, the lost property facility is at the Meeting Point. Any lost property will be safely stored and a log will be taken of any items handed in. After the event has finished, you can contact us to see if your property was found on: email@example.com
WILL THERE BE SECURITY GUARDS AND STEWARDS AT THE EVENT?
There are many security guards and stewards at the event and they will be clearly visible. If you have any problems or queries, they will be pleased to assist you.
WILL THE SHOW BE VERY LOUD?

ARE THERE ANY COVERED AREAS AT THE EVENT?
There are no covered areas at the event.
WILL THERE BE ANY STROBE LIGHTING?
Depending on artist’s performance there may be strobe lighting used.
WILL I BE ABLE TO SMOKE AT THE EVENT?
Yes, the law permits you to smoke at outdoor events.
CAN I CAMP AT THE EVENT?

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE CONCERT FINISHES?
At the end of the concert there will be a large amount of people leaving the site, so we ask you take your time and be patient.
Please respect our neighbours and leave the site quietly. We also ask that you leave the site as you find it and make sure you dispose of litter in the bins provided.
